Based at the University of Washington in Seattle, the Institute on Human Development and Disabilities works to enhance the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities through cutting-edge research, education, clinics, community involvement, and advocacy. The IHDD has three main components: the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (IDDRC), the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), and the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) center.
We offer a wide range of clinical services to support individuals with developmental disabilities. Our specialty clinics offer comprehensive interdisciplinary evaluation and support for individuals and families navigating neurodevelopmental disabilities.
In addition to our specialty clinics, we provide direct services that are designed to empower individuals with developmental disabilities to lead fulfilling lives. These services include inclusive education, employment assistance, specialized aids for people with vision disabilities, and resources for assistive technology.
