The Washington State Legislature directed the development of a 10-year strategic plan to transform Washington state’s system of services and supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Legislature funded the DSHS Developmental Disabilities Administration to support the planning process. The outcome will be a community-driven roadmap. It will be a shared vision for the future. It will also inform DDA’s ongoing strategic plan.
DDA needs input and participation from the community to develop the 10-year strategic plan. More information will be shared about ways to participate and provide input. Opportunities will include in-person group discussions, virtual events and surveys. Many voices and perspectives will be needed.
DDA will work with a steering committee to oversee the process. The group will help DDA design an inclusive approach. Members of the steering committee include:
